The Rev. Robert Stephen Malone Jr. a former resident of Gulf Shores and a resident of Birmingham, died Monday, May 23, 2011.
He was born in Norfolk, Va., in 1962, and graduated from Foley High School, Auburn University, and Reformed Theological Seminary. He was a Realtor with the Mountain Brook office of Realty South.
He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Homewood. He was a man of few, but kind and generous words, and quiet and true ways.
Survivors include his wife Melanie; his parents, Robert and Cynthia Malone of Gulf Shores; his god-mother, Martha Blake-Adams; his mother-in-law, Marilyn Beard of Cahaba Heights; seven children Madeline, Margaret, Anna Claire, Mary, Colin, Brennan and Wesley; three siblings Frank (Jennifer), Charles (Anne), and Marshall (Jeanette); many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Red Mountain Community School, P.O. Box 55973, Birmingham, AL 35255, a school which all their children attended and at which he taught Bible and Spanish.
