The Quirky Mac opens storefront in Daphne

DAPHNE — The Quirky Mac has opened a new storefront on the Eastern Shore.
Locals may remember seeing the Quirky Mac at farmer’s markets, but now owner Sisily O’Rourke has opened a permanent brick-and-mortar at 10185 County Road 64. The shop also includes a drive-through window.

O’Rourke began the business the night before her birthday in 2021. She already was pouring everything into being a mom but is always up for a challenge. After watching cooking shows, where cooks would cite how difficult it can be, O’Rourke decided to try her hand at baking, starting with French macarons.

O’Rourke said she likes to make fun flavors, changing the menu every month. Macaron flavors include lemon, birthday cake, strawberry milkshake and browned butter pistachio. Along with macarons, she also makes cold-brew coffee, flavored drinks she calls fizzes and “croffles,” which are waffle-pressed croissants complete with a variety of toppings to choose from.

To O’Rourke, the Quirky Mac isn’t just a business. She said she wants to provide a space for people to come in and talk about their day, saying macarons are fun and delicious.

“I feel very blessed and honored for the opportunity for a community and for people being receptive to what I do because people don’t have to stop [here] and spend their money,” O’Rourke said. “That’s very important to me that people take the time to take their hard-earned money to spend it with me because they could go anywhere or not go anywhere, so I value that, and I value my community and the people who show up for us because it’s literally the only reason why I’m here.”

The Quirky Mac is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
