ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — Get ready for a revolution…A Pro-Revolution 2011, that is.
On Friday, July 22 at the Baldwin County Coliseum and Fairgrounds in Robertsdale, youth from all over the county are invited to be a part of an event targeted to change their lives.
With doors opening at 7 p.m. and tickets still available, Women’s Care Medical Center of Robertsdale is hosting this free event with food, fun, music , free giveaways and a program focusing on the lifelong benefits of others, practicing forgiveness and making prudent healthy life choices.
“We want to encourage our teenagers to consider the possible dire consequences of a flagrant lifestyle and encourage them to make healthier decisions, Our hope is to educate teens on the negative effects of emotional trauma, sexually transmitted diseases and the hard decisions that come with unplanned pregnancies,” said Sue Leavins, executive director of Women’s Care Medical Center.
This the first time for the event and Leavins is hopeful for a great turnout from area churches and their youth groups. “Even though we are targeting the youth (middle and high school), adults are more than welcome to come and participate. We have been wanting to do this for a long time and I am so glad we are finally able to do it.”
As part of the event, members of the group PULSE (Protecting Unborn Leaders Seeking Eternity) from Mobile will be presenting a program about the sanctity of life, a WCMC representative said. The group of high school students volunteer and raise support and awareness for local pregnancy crisis centers and is “built on the foundation of strong student leaders that desire LIFE for all and the protection of our babies.” said the PULSE Facebook page.
“Our youth are faced with so much these days and need all the guidance we can give them. We are hoping this event will give them something more than the world can give,” Leavins said.
