Back by pup-ular demand, The Haven, a no-kill adoption guarantee animal shelter, will hold a Yappy Hour on Thursday, April 19, from 5-7pm at Windmill Market in Fairhope. Admission is $10 for each adult and $5 for each child under 12. Thanks to the generosity of Windmill Market, Mary Ann’s Deli and Sweet Olive Bakery and Juice Bar, light appetizers will be on-hand for all 2-legged participants, with beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks available for a nominal charge. Yappitizers and fresh water will be provided for all tagged and leashed dogs. This is a great opportunity for our furry friends to polish their social skills. While everyone mingles and has a great time, music will be performed by Melody Duncan. Door prizes will also be awarded, thanks to Rosie Blu, A Place Remembered, Pet Haven and Old 27 Grill.
All these festivities are for a serious purpose. The Haven will use the money generated to offset their monthly medical expenses that can average nearly $3000 a month. “We are delighted once again to be offering this popular event,” said Michael Graham, the Haven’s executive director. The Haven, presently in its 12th year, has rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed over 4,000 abandoned and abused animals that have come through their door. “This money will ensure that we can continue providing our programs and services to the community like our Low-Cost Micro-chip program,” said Graham.
Keeping in mind, “no tags, no leash, no service, ”The Haven is sure that all who attend will have a great time!
