SPANISH FORT, Ala. — “The Golden Era of the Piano” is a lecture/recital given by Dr. Jerry Alan Bush in celebration of the 300th anniversary of the development of the piano.
Bush, a pianist, is a professor of music and coordinator of keyboard studies at the University of South Alabama.
He maintains an extensive career as a recitalist, master clinician and adjudicator for numerous competitive events.
Bush will be presenting this same lecture/recital the first week of November at Princeton University, Guggenheim Museum in New York City and at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.
Piano selections from Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninoff and Bartok will be presented.
The Baldwin County Music Teachers Association will host this event on Nov. 1, at 3 p.m., at Fitzpen Place, 11247 Hwy. 31 in Spanish Fort.
This is one mile east of the Eastern Shore Centre.
Admission is $3 for adults and students.
Students who have a T-shirt commemorating the 300th anniversary of the piano are encouraged to wear them to this event.
Those not owning a commemorative T-shirt are able to purchase one at the cost of $12.
All proceeds from the shirts benefit the BCMTA Scholarship Fund.
As a special incentive, all students attending will receive a free tote bag compliments of the Mobile Symphony.
