The Rev. Thomas A. Tews, 62, a native of Cleveland and a resident of Daphne, died at his home after a brief illness, surrounded by his beloved family.
He was the spiritual father of the members of Ascension Lutheran Church in Daphne, since 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Esther Tews.
Survivors include his wife, Martha; children, Thomas (Ashley) Tews, Jennifer Tews, Kenneth (Kim) Tews and Nathan Tews; four grandchildren, Dylan, Alexis, Trent and Chase, all of Daphne; two brothers, Gary Tews of California and David Tews of Cleveland; sister, Barbara Kavouras of Cleveland.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 16 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fairhope.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 15 at Ascension Lutheran Church, Daphne.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Daphne.
