Oliver Jens “Bubba” Testman died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009 at his home on Soldier Creek in Lillian, surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 19, 1918 in Pensacola, Fla. to Jennie Andreasen and Birger Testman.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, retired from Peninsular Life Insurance Company in 1981 and was a member of Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church, Lillian.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his uncle and two of his brothers, Julian B. Testman and Alvin E. Testman.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 67 years, Elmyra Dye Testman; four children, Lucia (Hugh) Helms of Lillian, Ray (Glenda Lee) Testman of Chico, Calif., Jan (Jack) Wills of Lillian, and Sally Brock of Pensacola, Fla., 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Thorvald (Mercedes) Testman of Lillian; three sisters, Helen Suarez, Lillian Vucovich and Judith Halliday; a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7 at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church, Lillian with Pastor Robert Rupp officiating.
