Terror "cell" in Bay Minette: Federal inmate booked into Baldwin County jail

Posted

Records from the Baldwin County Corrections Center confirm that Federal terror suspect Randy Lamar Wilson was booked into a cell at the Bay Minette jail facility at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, under case jurisdiction of the U.S. Marshall's Service.  Wilson was arrested in December in Atlanta, along with a second suspect, prior to allegedly boarding overseas flights bound for north Africa.  Wilson pleaded guilty last month to Federal charges of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.  His address is listed in jail records as Martin Drive, Mobile (AL).

Under the plea agreement with prosecutors, 26-year-old Wilson faces fifteen years in federal prison, contingent on the information he provides about co-conspirators. U.S. District Judge Kristi DuBose set an Oct. 18 sentencing date for Wilson.

The same day, agents arrested Mohammad Abdul Rahman Abukhdair, 25, Wilson's former business partner. Charges against Abukhdair are still pending and his trial is set for August.  He is also reportedly from Mobile, and was transferred to jail facilities there on Tuesday.

Further details regarding Martin's incarceration status and disposition of his Federal case will be forthcoming as information becomes available.
