DAPHNE, Alabama - Baldwin County’s football teams stay in region play tonight, with one game featuring two top-10 teams tonight in Daphne at Bayside Academy.
The Admirals (2-1, 2-0) will host the T.R. Miller Tigers (3-0, 2-0) in a top-10 battle for supremacy in Class 3A Region 1 at Admirals Field in Daphne. Bayside (No. 7) defeated T.R. Miller (No. 3) last season. The game will be broadcast on the radio by WKNU-FM 106.3. Bayside has rallied to two straight road wins after opening the season with a tough home loss to Charles Henderson.
Baldwin County at Fairhope: The unbeaten Fairhope Pirates (3-0, 2-0) will host the winless Baldwin County Tigers (0-3, 0-2) tonight in 6A Region 2 play at WC Majors Field in Fairhope. The Pirates came in at No. 10 in this week’s ASWA high school football poll with wins over St. Paul’s, Enterprise and Dothan to start head coach Adam Winegarden’s first season. Fairhope has not lost to Baldwin County since the 2001 season.
Dothan at Robertsdale: The Robertsdale Golden Bears are still looking for their first win in head coach Brian Campbell’s first season in the Hub City. The Bears (0-3, 0-2) welcome Dothan (2-1, 1-1) in their first home game of the season in 6A Region 2 play.
Foley at Enterprise: The Foley Lions (2-1, 1-1) hit the road for the second of five straight road games as they travel to Enterprise (2-1, 1-1) tonight in 6A Region 2 play. The Lions are coming off an overtime loss to rival Daphne last week, while Enterprise defeated Baldwin County in Bay Minette last week. Enterprise head coach David Faulkner is a former Foley assistant coach under Lions head coach Todd Watson. Cedrix Reed has been an impact player on offense and special teams for the Lions, rushing for 270 yards and four scores last week against Daphne and returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown against Robertsdale.
Northview at Daphne: The ninth-ranked Daphne Trojans (2-1, 2-0) host Northview-Dothan (2-1, 1-1) tonight at Jubilee Stadium in a 6A Region 2 game. The Trojans are coming off an overtime win over rival Foley last week in which quarterback T.J. Fleeton threw for 198 yards and three touchdowns.
Spanish Fort at Faith Academy: The fifth-ranked 5A Spanish Fort Toros (3-0, 2-0) visit the Faith Academy Rams (1-2, 1-1) tonight in 5A Region 1 play at Rams Stadium in Mobile. The Toros are coming off a blistering 56-7 win over rival Gulf Shores last week and opened the season with wins over Daphne and B.C. Rain. Quarterback Joel Poe had four touchdown passes last week, including three to Sammy Harris. Ed Autry and Sammy Tolbert have been a tough running back tandem to stop this season as well. Tolbert rushed for 101 yards against Gulf Shores and Autry added 65 yards on the ground.
Gulf Shores at St. Paul’s: The Gulf Shores Dolphins (1-2, 0-2) opened the season with a win against Satsuma but have lost two straight to Faith Academy and Spanish Fort. They visit No. 7 St. Paul’s (2-1, 2-0) tonight in a critical 5A Region 1 game at E.E. Delaney Stadium in Mobile.
