Daphne Police Department is investigating an early-morning shooting that left one man dead.
Shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thursday, DPD officers responded to the parking lot area of Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, which is located just across the street from the DPD at 1539 US 98.
Officers found one male victim. EMS arrived shortly after police, and, despite life-saving measures, the victim did not survive. Daphne Police Chief Brian Gulsby confirmed the victim was a manager at Taziki’s, but his name has not yet been released.
The suspect is still at large and described as a Black male wearing a dark hoodie. He fled the area on foot. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call (251) 620-0911.
“We don’t believe there is any elevated risk to the public,” Gulsby said. “He likely fled in a vehicle parked or waiting nearby.”
Taziki’s and the sounding shopping center area remain an active crime scene.
