Charles Rex Taylor, 77, a resident of Spanish Fort, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at a local healthcare facility.
He was a member of the Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church and received his BSEd from Taylor University and his MEd from the University of Illinois. He worked as a teacher and guidance counselor in Indiana and Alaska, retiring from the State of Alaska Office of Telecommunications.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Taylor; two sons, Scott (Michelle) Taylor of Spanish Fort and Mark (Ruth) Taylor of Villa Ridge, Mo.; two brothers, Max (Debra) Taylor of Howe, Ind., and Bob (Sheila) Taylor of Marion, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28 at Union Chapel Baptist Church in Marion, Ind. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Gideons International or to Covenant Hospice.
