Winifred Grace Allen Taylor, 93, a native and resident of Bon Secour, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008.
She and her husband owned and operated Taylor's grocery from 1937 to 1970. As a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, she was very active in community and church functions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Taylor Sr., and three brothers, Orville M. Allen, James A. Allen and Elmer C. Allen.
Survivors include a son, Jack (Louise) Taylor of Bon Secour; daughter, Myrna Ely of Mobile; three grandchildren, Allan Frederick Seibert of Mobile, John Taylor of St. Helen, Ore., and Elizabeth Taylor of Magnolia Springs; eight gret-grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard Allen of Bon Secour.
Funeral services and visitation were held Monday, Feb. 18 at St. Peters Episcopal Church. Interment followed at St. Peters Episcopal Church Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
