Mary Jane Cawthon Albright Taylor, 96, died Monday, June 16, 2008.
She was born April 5, 1912 in Selma. She lived in Georgia, Florida, California and New York, but resided in Mobile and the Eastern Shore of Alabama for over 70 years.
She attended Montevallo College and The University of Denver. She taught dancing for over 30 years on the Eastern Shore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Furniss Cawthon of Selma and Rose Belle Cawthon of Monroeville, her first husband, James Roy Albright of Mobile, and her second husband, Stewart MacArthur Taylor of Mobile and an infant daughter, Rose Marie Albright.
Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Albright (George) Black of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Mary Jane Albright Ernest of Birmingham Jessica Albright (George William) Murphy of Summerdale and Marie Christian Albright (Donnie Neal) Rowell of Mobile; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, Annamarie Black of Charlottesville, Va., Clair Christian Black (Henry) McCoy and children, Eleanor CLary McCoy and Mary Christian McCoy of Columbus, Ga.; Jane Cawthon Howard (Walter) Evans and children, Walter Burt Evans and Henry Rogers Evans of Birmingham; Cecile Morrissette Howard (Denson N.) Franklin and children Julia Blair Franklin, James Conoway Franklin, Emily Morrissette Franklin and Travis Albright Franklin of Birmingham; Travis Albright Howard of Mobile, Noel Sydney (Cheryl) Whitman and children, Allison Noel Whitman, Ashton Michael Whitman and Alexander Noel Whitman of Pensacola, Fla., Craig Whitmand and daughter Elizabeth Ashley Whitman of Pensacola, Fla., Stewart (Whitney) Whitman) of Pensacola, Jessica Camille Lamourt (Fredric) Petit and daughter, Nathalie Isabelle Marie-Therese of Irving, Texas, and Francoise Helene Lamour and daughter Alexis Marie Lamour Conner of Mobile; three step children and their families, Carlisle TAylor (Richard) Semmes of Pensacola, Stewart (Connie) Kirkwood and family, Ellen Taylor Santa Cruz and family.
Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20 from the chapel of Homestead Village, 924 Plantation Blvd., Fairhope with Henry Banks McCoy officiating.
