Margaret Elizabeth Deaux Taylor, a resident of Chattanooga, Tenn., died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, following a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 27, 1917, in Summerdale. Prior to moving to Chattanooga in 2006, she and her husband, both natives of Baldwin County, lived in Mobile for 52 years. She was a member of the Mobile First (Cody Road) Seventh-day Adventist Church, and for many years was the church organist and also a first and second grade-teacher at the church school, Mobile Junior Academy.

Survivors include her husband, George Orson Taylor; daughter, Sylvia Stanford of Chattanooga, Tenn.; son, George Jeffery (Nadene Mohr) Taylor of Chattanooga; two sisters, Evelyn (Curtis) Morton of Atlanta and Eleanor Naughton of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; brother, Frederick (Aurora) Deaux of Banning, Calif.; sister-in-law, Billy Deaux of Mobile; three granddaughters; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept.24 from the chapel of Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. Burial followed at Silverhill Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
