Tacky Jack’s restaurant seeks Spanish Fort location

SPANISH FORT, Ala.—Ken Kichler has big plans for his new property on the Causeway, but gaining site plan approval to convert the former Oysterella’s into the next Tacky Jack’s Tavern is first on his list.

Kichler presented his plans to the Planning Commission during Monday’s informal work session.

Because the property is essentially “move-in” ready, Building Official Bruce Renkert said he only asked Kichler, his architect and developer to submit the plans for site approval because they intend to add 20 feet to the back of an existing deck and re-contour the parking lot.

Long-term, conceptual plans call for the construction of an intricate boardwalk system and gazebo, but Kichler said he is immediately concerned with getting the restaurant operational by Dec. 1.
