GULF SHORES, AL - In an ongoing effort to help disabled veterans Tacky Jacks restaurants gave away two chairs to disabled veterans on Veteran's Day.

At 9 a.m. in Orange Beach Julie Canevari from the Pensacola area was surprised with her new beach chair. She did tours in Kuwait and Iraq. Julie was diagnosed with MS and it is believed chemical poisoning from her tour in Iraq is the probable cause.

Tacky Jacks teamed with the Marine Corps League and Scooter Fredrickson to build this chair for her. She was more in need of outdoor beach type chair.

At 1 p.m. in Gulf Shores purple heart recipient, Anthony McDaniel, who lost his legs and part of his hand while trying to remove IEDs in Afghanistan, received his chair. He is now a part of the Mobile Patriots Wheelchair Basketball team and on the U.S. Wheelchair Olympic Rugby team. He received an Action Track (All-terrain) wheelchair.

Tacky Jacks collects donations at a marlin stand where guests have their pictures made and are asked to donate to the cause. Tacky Jacks matches all donations, including one of $2,000 from the Treasures of Isle Mardi Gras krewe, and finds deserving recipients through the help of the Marine Corps League and other groups.

Several members of the Marine League and a squadron of Marines from Naval Air Station Pensacola participated in both ceremonies.
