BAY MINETTE, Alabama — A Bay Minette woman has been arrested and charged with an attempted burglary in the Spanish Fort area and is believed to be involved, along with two other suspects, with three other burglaries in Bay Minette.
Capt. Steve Arthur, BCSO investigations command coordinator, said a homeowner captured video of a female suspect and vehicle believed to be involved in an attempted burglary at the occupied residence in the Blakeley area of Spanish Fort on May 17.
“We were sent the video and put it out on our website,” Arthur said. “We received several calls identifying … the suspect.”
A photo of the suspect and BOLO was released and the suspect turned herself into the Sheriff’s Department on May 23, Arthur said.
Karisha Dominique Ikner, 19, of Bay Minette was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Facility at about 6:30 p.m. May 23 and charged with attempted burglary, second degree, Arthur said. She was released on a $5,000 bond.
Another suspect also identified in the BOLO was later cleared of the charges, Arthur said.
While in custody, Arthur said, Ikner confessed to the attempted burglary, along with three other burglaries, each of which would carry a charge of burglary, third degree, in the Bay Minette area between May 16 and May 17. She also named two additional male suspects, which BCSO officials are attempting to track down.
Anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspects is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department Central Investigations Command at 251-972-8589.
