The Pew Research Center recently did a survey and came up with the countries that hate and love America the most. Those who hate us and the percentage of haters is as follows.
1. Egypt (85 percent). 2. Jordan (85 percent). 3. Turkey (73 percent). 4. Russia (71 percent). 5. Palestine (66 percent).
Who loves America?
1. Philippines (92 percent). Israel (84 percent). 3. South Korea (82 percent) 4. Kenya (80 percent). 5. El Salvador (80 percent).
Now if American was an eligible bachelor and these countries were potential suitors, here are the conclusions I'd draw. This guy is rich and he's loved because he has money. Israel loves us because since World War II we've given Israel $115 billion in "gifts." Same for El Salvador: lots of "gifts." South Korea? Well, "she" wouldn't exist without us; we're the "father" of that state. Kenya and the Philippines? Who knows; sometimes people just love you.
On the other hand, money isn't everything. It won't always buy love. America has given Egypt plenty of money and "she" still hates us.
And Jordan is supposedly an ally. Go figure. Russia?
Well, that's kind of self-explanatory. Turkey and Palestine hate the "bachelor" because he isn't active enough; he just stands by and watches. They want a "man" who's pro-active I guess.
On another subject, the American Bible Society did a study to determine how much "Bible-mindedness" cities in America have and then ranked them accordingly. "Bible-mindedness" was defined as frequency of reading the Bible and how accurate the Bible is thought to be.
In the final tabulations, Chattanooga, Tenn., turned out to be the most "Bible-minded" city in America. No. 2 was the Birmingham/Anniston/Tuscaloosa area of Alabama. Others, from No. 3 to No. 10, were: Roanoke/Lynchburg, Va.; Springfield, Mo.; Shreveport, La.; Charlotte, N.C.; Greenville/Spartanburg/Anderson, S.C./Asheville, N.C.; Little Rock/Pine Bluff, Ark.; Jackson, Miss.; and Knoxville, Tenn.
Huntsville/Decatur, Ala. finished No. 12 and Mobile, Ala./Pensacola/Fort Walton, Fla. finished No. 23.
Naturally, the least "Bible-minded" areas were outside the Sanctified South: Cedar Rapids/Waterloo, Iowa, ranked no. 96, followed by San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose, Calif.; Boston, Mass./Manchester, N.H.; Albany/Schenectady/Troy, N.Y.; and Providence, R.I./New Bedford, Mass., at No. 100, the bottom of the barrel.
Now break up into your study groups and draw your own conclusions, brothers and sisters.
