SPANISH FORT, Ala.—You’re invited to join the Spanish Fort Sun at the Eastern Shore Centre from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday for the Eastern Shore Centre’s first Ice Cream Scoopfari.

Sun reporter Jenny Wilkins will scoop mint chocolate-chip ice cream. Tasting passes for the event are $1 each.

Some animals from the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo—based in Gulf Shores—will be at the centre from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Spanish Fort Sun will offer a special subscription rate of $15 for the first year; $2 from each subscription will benefit the zoo.

A competition among Wilkins and other media members will allow the public to  vote on a favorite “zooper scooper” and favorite flavor of Mayfield ice cream.
