George Melvin Stroh, 76, a native of Riverdale, Ill., and a longtime resident of Spanish Fort, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009 in Spanish Fort.

He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. He retired in 1998, from Terminix after 27 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Billie J. Stroh of Spanish Fort; three children, George “Mel” (Irene C.) Stroh Jr. of Destin, Fla., Kenneth “Ken” E. (Justina R.) Stroh of Mobile, and William “Bill” E. (Lonny J.) Stroh of Spanish Fort; brother, Arthur Stroh of Fairhope; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He will be missed by his family and many loving friends.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 from Jubilee Memorial Gardens.
