Jewel Genevieve “Gene” Weekley Stringer, 94, a native of Dyas and a resident of Homewood, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 at her residence.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Parren Stringer.
Survivors include a son, Leon Parren (Deann) Stringer of Mobile; daughter, Gail (Bud) Cason of Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Jill Cason (Jerry) Reasner, Jan Cason (Greg) Clark, Albert Cason Jr., and Leon “Joe” (Marty) Stringer Jr. all of Birmingham, Judson Stringer of Mobile, Jessica Stringer (Kevin) Inlow of Spanish Fort and Emily Stringer (Brad) Harvell of Mobile; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Thyra Long of Perdido; and sister-in-law, Voncile Weekley of Bay Minette.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 30 at the Perdido Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Lamb and the Rev. Joe Stringer officiating. Burial followed at Perdido Baptist Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were, Jerry Reasner, Al Cason Jr., Greg Clark, Judson Stringer, Kevin Inlow and Brad Harvell.
Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
