Ronald George Stratis, 64, a native of Fairhope and a longtime resident of Fairhope and Daphne, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 in a local healthcare facility.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and had been a home builder for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Stratis Jr.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Dorothy Mae Medynski and John J. Medynski of Daphne; former wife, Kathryn Fleming Stratis of Birmingham; two daughters, Ronda Stratis Garvin of Birmingham and Christina Stratis (Michael Oliver) Hunt of Mobile; sister, Constance Stratis (William Richard) McRae of Spanish Fort; five grandchildren, Sam and Katie Garvin of Birmingham, Matthew, Christopher and Thomas Hunt of Mobile; and a nephew, Nicholas B. (Rebecca Talty) McRae of Birmingham.
Visitation was held Wednesday, June 17 at Hughes Cremation & Funeral Service in Daphne. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, June 18 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope. Interment followed at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
The family requests memorial donations be made to American Heart Association.
