Horace James Stowe, 86, longtime resident of Fairhope, died Thursday, May 31, 2007.

He was the owner of Stowes Jewelers for 48 years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Scott Stowe

Survivors include his wife, Sue N. Stowe of Fairhope; two daughters, Beth Stowe (John) Fugard of Fish River and Peggy Stowe (Ron) Wiggins of Fairhope; four grandchildren, Darcey Fugard Puckett, Rip Fugard, Thomas Fugard and Tres Wiggins; two great-grandchildren, Trip and Maggie Puckett; two step-sons, Scott (Melynda) Lynn of Tuscaloosa and Brad (Wendy) Lynn of Lenett; two brothers, Lester (Mae) Stowe of Florence, Vernon (Evelyn) Stowe of McLoud, Okla.; step-daughter, Debbie Long of Tuscaloosa; 10 step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 2 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home and beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 3 at Fairhope United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.

The family requests donations be made to the Horace Stowe Memorial Fund at Bayside Academy, 303 Dryer Ave., Daphne, AL 36526, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
