Eula Mae “George” Ward Stone, 95, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at her home in Bay Minette.
She was born Aug. 23, 1913 to Charley Y. Ward and Aronie D. Shirey Ward and was a member of Winfield Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; three brothers; her husband of 67 years, Lewis M. Stone; two daughters, infant Charlene Stone and Nina Stone Logan of Loganville, Ga.; and a son, Charles L. Stone of Bay Minette.
Survivors include two daughters, June Stone (Billy L.) Phillips of Northport and Kathryn J. (Max) Sullivan of Bay Minette; 10 grandchildren, Charles Duckworth, Kathy Hicks, Cindy Holcomb, Jeannie Flanigan, Jaynne Raymond, Jackie Mayfield, Missy Goray, Dana Dixon, Brian Logan and Angie McLain; 18 great-grandchildren, Phillip Lollar, Cliff Herndon, Chuck Hill, Jason Hill, Austin Mayfield, Elizabeth Byrd, Stephanie Hill, Jake Goray, Logan Dixon, Landry Dixon, Brandon McLain, Victoria McLain, Evan Duckworth, Christian Duckworth, Tyler Hicks, McKenzie Hicks, Gunner Logan and Brodie Logan; and eight great-great-grandchildren, Phillip LollarJr., Tyler Lollar, Marriane Lollar, Garrett Lollar, Grace Hill, Chandler Byrd, Carsyn Byrd and Jackson Smitherman.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 15 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Dr. Chip Starnes and the Rev. Bill Carr officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to any local veterans association or to your favorite charity.
