Otis M. Stewart, 96, of Perdido, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 at his daughter’s residence in Perdido.
He was a retired farmer, born April 12, 1922 in Dyas to Hiram Owen and Elizabeth Redmond Stewart. He was a World War II Army veteran and his favorite past-time was sitting on the front porch in his swing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie A. Stewart of Perdido; son, Glen W. (Marianne) Stewart of Fairhope; daughter, Evelyn S. (Franklin) King of Perdido; sister, Laura “Blackie” Smith of Dyas; five grandchildren, Susan King, Roger King, Sherri Clay, Leigh Ann Wilder and Shannon Plovanich; and six great-grandchildren, Trever King, Tyler King, John C. Clay, Caleigh Clay, Hannah Wilder and Gavin Wilder.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 13, from the chapel of Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Theresa Long officiating. Burial followed at Bryars-McGill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were, Elmer Stimac, Mason Bryars, Roger King, Bobby Odom, Jimmy Hollingsworth and Jerry Stewart.
Arrangements were made by Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Atmore.
