Dan Edward Stevens, born Sept. 23, 1922, a resident of Bay Minette, died Friday, July 6, 2007 at Mobile Infirmary.
He was member of the Bay Minette Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Willie Hall and Johnny Thigpen Sr.
He was known in the community as a family man, fishermen, and a gardener who always had a kind smile and an appreciative heart.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Alena Mae Stevens; 14 children, Mary Diane Crook, Tommy Allan Mims, Harrison Mims, Marion Mims, Juanita Mims, Judy Stevens, Doris Williams, Danny Stevens Sr., Martha Falk, Marvelda Williams, Marsha Stevens, Christina Stevens, Francis Colleen Stevens, Carla Stevens; and foster child Mandrell Atchison.
Visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10 at Memorial Funeral Home in Mobile. Visitation will be held beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11 at the Bay Minette Civic Center.
