Stellarose McKenzie, 85, of Knoxville, Tenn. passed away July 27, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin B. McKenzie; parents, Gilbert and Alma Lampshire; brother, Wayne Lampshire; and sisters-in-law, Lucille Wenzel and Opal Soesbe.
Stellarose was born in Lincoln, Neb. in 1927. She was a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta.
She was a homemaker, and was formerly employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Kansas City, Mo.
She and Marvin retired to Foley and lived there for 20 years.
Stellarose became passionate about researching her family’s genealogy. She and Marvin centered their travels around locations where she could gather information. She had the honor of being a member of the First Family of Tennessee.
She is survived by her daughters, Alma Allen (David) of Olathe, Kan. and Anna Woerner (Dr. Douglas) of Knoxville, Tenn.; a son, Marvin Bryan McKenzie Jr. (Donna) of Hays, Kan.; grandchildren, Andrew Allen, Dr. Jeffrey Allen, Laura Allen, Gregory Allen, Martha Woerner, Matthew Woerner, Peter Woerner, Alex McKenzie (Teagan) and Sarah McKenzie; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lampshire; four nieces and two nephews.
Burial to be held privately at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.
