Virginia Lucile Starkes, 79, a native of Phenix City and a resident of Perdido, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at her residence.

She was a retired examiner for Vanity Fair in Atmore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Starkes; her grandson, Adam Moshell; and her granddaughter, Sherry Hadley.

Survivors include her son, Robert Wayne Moshell of Edmonds, Wash.; three daughters, Sharon Lee Moshell of Atmore, Patricia Ann Dean of Perdido and Linda Lou King of Bay Minette; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21 at Fretwell Tabernacle Church with Helen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Bryars-McGill Cemetery in Perdido.

Active pallbearers will be Timothy McKinney, Timothy Thomley, Joseph Hadley, Billy “Buster” Dean Jr., Kenny Weekley and Charles “Bubba” Godwin. Alternate pallbearers were Lee Davis and Anthony Dean.

Arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
