We are so pleased to have chosen Stacey Smith as Gulf Shores Elementary School's 2016-17 Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Smith was selected by her peers who know her to be a most fabulous teacher, co-worker and friend. Mrs. Smith graciously accepted this honor. “This is my 21st year in education including 11 years in Baldwin County and 10 years in Tennessee,” Smith said. “I’ve been teaching sixth grade for 16 years, and it is my absolute favorite grade to teach. Although it can be exhausting, I do enjoy watching children learn new things about themselves and the world around them. Using the Seven Habits has helped me become more effective in life and in the classroom. I’m grateful to my family for supporting me and this school for honoring me! Thank you so much!”
