ELBERTA, Ala. - St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Elberta will host a Mother's Day luncheon Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the men's club as the head cooks.
The menu options include all sorts of items with fried chicken, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade bread, corn, green beans, coleslaw, jello salad, drinks and dessert available for attendees. There also will be a bake sale of homemade items.
Entry to the event costs $8 for adults and $5 for children, with the funds helping offset the costs for the additions to the church's Fellowship Hall.
"This is the 42nd annual Mother's Day dinner, and it goes to the building fund," June Taylor, church fellowship chair, said.
