St. James Episcopal School earns AISA accreditation as new campus nears completion

Posted

St. James Episcopal School in Fairhope has earned official accreditation from the Alabama Independent School Association, a milestone school leaders say reflects the institution's commitment to academic excellence and student development.

The accreditation follows an extensive review process that included a detailed self-study, supporting documentation and an on-site evaluation by the AISA Accreditation Review Team. Schools are measured against standards involving educational quality, governance, safety and overall effectiveness to ensure a strong learning environment for students.

"We are incredibly honored to have met all the standards and criteria required for AISA accreditation," said Shelley Miller, director of St. James Episcopal School. "This achievement is a direct reflection of the dedication of our staff, the strength of our school community and our unwavering commitment to serve our students and families with excellence."

AISA accreditation is a respected designation for independent schools throughout Alabama. Schools seeking accreditation must demonstrate excellence in curriculum, faculty qualifications, leadership, financial stability, student services and continuous improvement practices. The process is designed to evaluate both current performance and long-term readiness for growth and success.

School officials said the achievement reinforces the school's mission to serve as "an Episcopal School anchored in Christ, educating the whole child, mind, body and spirit, in a nurturing environment."

The accreditation announcement comes as St. James Episcopal School prepares to open a new campus facility this fall. The new building is expected to provide expanded learning spaces, additional resources and room for continued enrollment growth as the school serves more families in the community.
