The Fairhope Public Library Foundation is proud to announce and host the Library”s 3rd Annual “Hoot Scoot”! Mark your calendars for April 29, at 6:30 p.m.
Fairhope”s only night, prediction run will not only feature the original 5K route through the streets of downtown Fairhope, but also a one-mile fun run, “Fledglings In Flight”. We will be hosting all of the festivities on the Library Lawn this year and are thrilled to have live music by The Leavin” Brothers perform at our post-race celebration. T-Shirts, pizza and beverages will be provided to pre-registered race participants and available to others for purchase while supplies last! Bring your family and friends for what is always certain to be a “Hooting” good time!

Golf Clinics will be held at Kiva Dunes in March for women and men who are beginners or intermediate golfers. All aspects of the game will be covered including putting, short game and full swing. The 11th Annual AL-PASS Charity Golf Tournament will be Sunday, April 10 at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope.
The tournament is a four-man scramble format with a shotgun start at 1:45 p.m. The cost is $100 per player and includes 18 holes of golf, riding cart, range balls, food and prizes.

Western Gate chapter of the Florida Trail Association is sponsoring a hike in partnership with the statewide Florida Forever Coalition initiative, “Take A Hike, Florida!” on Saturday. This celebration is in recognition of Florida”s natural treasures and the outdoor recreation opportunities provided by 20 years of state land conservation. The 14th annual University of Mobile Classic golf tournament will be April 29 at TimberCreek Golf Club in Daphne. Deadline to register for the tournament is April 16. Cost is $150 per player or $500 per team. All proceeds benefit scholarships provided by the University of Mobile annual fund.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. A post-tournament dinner and golf polos will be provided to all players, and many prizes will be awarded. Opportunities for sponsorships are still available, beginning at $150.

The Gulf Coast Boat Super Show will be April 8-10 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at The Wharf on Canal Road in Orange Beach. One of the largest boat shows in the southeast, it will feature boats up to 100 feet, fishing boats, ski boats, offshore boats, runabouts, personal watercraft and many more. More than 100 boats in the water and 150 boats on land, demonstrations, surfing contest on the only full size electric surfboard on the Gulf Coast, vendors and much more. The 2011 Conference USA Women’s Golf Tournament will be April 16-19 at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club in Gulf Shores. Come watch these young athletes as they compete for the Conference USA Championship. The championship shall be three days, with 18 holes scheduled for play each day. Playing partners for the first day will be determined by a blind draw. For every succeeding round, team scores will determine parings. The Fairhope Tennis Association is presenting the first Fairhope Open Doubles Tennis Tournament April 30 and May 1. All tennis players are welcome to compete. FTA membership is not required but is greatly appreciated. Both men and women divisions will consist of double teams Class A(4.0 >) and class B(3.5 <) with a maximum of 8 teams and minimum of 4 teams in each division. All brackets will be the double elimination format. First and second place trophies will be presented in all divisions. Also, gifts, food, drinks, and handouts will be available to all players and tournament volunteers. All matches will be played at the Fairhope Municipal Tennis Courts, Morphy and Young streets. The Greer’s – Goodwill Easter Seals’ 22th Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be Friday at 7 a.m. at Magnolia Grove Golf Course. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the tournament will begin with a shotgun start.
Proceeds from the event help provide services to children and adults with and without disabilities through Encouragement, Education and Employment.
