Grace Bible Church invites the public to attend a free concert by Emmaus Road Sunday, July 22, 11 a.m. The church is located on Fairhope Avenue beyond Greeno Road.

Emmaus Road is a young Southern Gospel Quartet from Dalton, Ga. Emmaus Road is dedicated to sharing the ministry of Jesus Christ through song and worship. The group travels all across the country singing and preaching full-time at churches, revivals, concerts and other events.

Emmaus Road was established in October 2003 and now the group consists of Greg Witt, owner and tenor vocalist, of Dalton, Ga: Greg Willis, lead vocalist and minister, of Douglasville, Ga.; Chad Sheppard, baritone vocalist, of Stockbridge, Ga.; and Michael Wehner, bass vocalist, of Hiram, Ga. Wehner is also a U.S. Marine, and has served in Iraq.

Will Kent, from Rome, Ga., is the group’s newest member. He is the quartet’s pianist and also sings several songs. All of the on-stage members have been singing from a young age, and have performed with other regional and national groups.

Emmaus Road performs many traditional southern Gospel songs such as “In The Garden,” “I’m Winging My Way Back Home,” “Beulah Land” and others, along with chart-topping originals such as “What A Time,” “Homecoming Day” and “The Supreme Sacrifice.”

They also do several hymns accompanied only by piano, such as “Going Home” and “Amazing Grace.”
