SPARC after school kids help with butterfly waystations

GULF SHORES, AL - The SPARC afterschool children are currently being visited, on the first Tuesday of every month, by the Gulf Shores Garden Club.

They provide the children with educational information about vegetables, flowers and butterflies gardens. On Tuesday they visited us and certified the SPARC garden as a “Monarch Waystation” which means that our garden provides milkweeds, nectar sources, and shelter needed to sustain monarch butterflies as they migrate through North America.

Helping along with Garden Club members was Bon Secor Park Ranger Denise McInturff.
