SPANISH FORT, Ala.—Several Spanish Fort High School students outshined the competition during the recent Baldwin Model United Nations at the Fairhope Civic Center.
Students in Timothy Williamson’s International Relations classes participated in the annual event designed to teach students about diplomacy. Teams of students assume the perspective of a particular country and then debate world issues affecting that corner of the world.
Mitch Fisher, Will Menas, Ryan Burns and Blake Scarbrough won “Best Overall Delegation” for their impassioned representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Burns was also named “Best Speaker” for his delegation as did Josh Spell. Seth Read was named runner-up for “Best Speaker” of his committee.
Meanwhile, Scarborough won “Best Diplomat” for his committee, and Spell was named runner-up for “Best Diplomat” in his committee.
