SPANISH FORT, Ala.—A second businessman in as many months is petitioning the Planning Commission for approval to construct office space on Jay Drive.
The latest request, discussed during Monday’s informal work session, involves a proposed site plan for construction of an office building at 30989 Jay Drive. Building Official Bruce Renkert said electrician Darryl Bowers submitted the request and intends to create a headquarters of sorts where his crew can gather in the mornings, so public access to the site should not be an issue.
In mid-December, the commission approved Atlanta businessman Dan Vaughan’s site plan request for a nearby parcel to house a proposed office and warehouse complex.
Vaughan, president of Indusco Environmental Services Inc., intends to relocate the company and several employees and was seeking approval to build a 5,000-square-foot structure on the east side of Jay Drive. The plans call for a 1,500-square-foot office building with the remainder reserved for operations.
