SPANISH FORT, Ala.—The Savvy Mom Summer Sale might be one month away, but time is running out to reserve a spot in what has become one of the Eastern Shore’s most popular consignment sales.

"I will try to give fair warning before we cut-off consignor registration," said Jennifer Hammond, who began hosting more than two years ago what have become regular seasonal consignment sales for children’s and maternity clothing as well as "gently used" toys, books and games.spring and summer clothing will be accepted, and online registrants will be asked to agree to a waiver intended to speed up the drop-off process.

The summer sale is slated for June 23-25 at the Gathering Place, and consignors can register online via The Savvy Mom Sale’s Facebook page.

The earlier participants register, the sooner Hammond said she will be able to gauge the number of items being brought in and that will ultimately determine whether a cap on consignors needs to be set. In addition, Hammond said only

The sale offers consignors a base return of 65 percent on all sales and the potential to recoup as much as 75 percent of the item’s sale value. Volunteers who work four hours boost their take to 70 percent, while those who volunteer for eight hours earn 75 percent of each sale.

As usual, all items remaining will be half price on the final day of the event.

Consignors will also have access to door prize drawings, be given the opportunity to attend a preview sale, receive a presale pass for a friend and get first crack any items remaining for Half-Price Day.
