The city of Spanish Fort announced Friday, Aug. 11, that city council would hold a special meeting.
An email sent to media outlets by city clerk Rebecca Gaines stated:
"The purpose of the meeting is to consider potential grant funding opportunities, discuss general municipal business and such other business as may come before the city council."
The meeting is scheduled to take place Saturday, Aug. 19, at noon in the Spanish Fort Community Center, 7361 Spanish Fort Blvd., Spanish Fort.
Spanish Fort City Council holds regular meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month. Work sessions begin at 4:30 p.m. followed by a regular council meeting at 6 p.m. All meeting, unless otherwise posted, are held at the Spanish Fort Community Center, 7361 Spanish Fort Blvd., Spanish Fort, and are open to the public.
