FOLEY, Alabama — The Spanish Fort Toros scored four goals in the second half and beat the Foley Lions 4-0 in boys soccer on a foggy Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first half the Toros (2-0) scored three goals in a two minute span midway through the second half to break the game open. Jesse McCarty scored the first of his two goals at 23:30, then Clisby Clarke scored at 22:25 and 21:11 to secure the win. McCarty added an insurance goal at 13:30 for the Toros, who play in the Southern Shootout in Fairhope on Friday. Connor Uhle added two assists for the Toros.

"I'm extremely proud of my team, they played a good game," Spanish Fort head coach Mitch Warfield said. "We got into one of those 0-0, can't catch a break kind of games, where (Foley) played well and we played well. Eventually we started catching the breaks and put the game away in the second half."

The Toros opened the season with a 5-1 win at Baldwin County High School. Caleb Geutreaux had three goals and Jesse Kennedy and Clisby had one goal apiece in the win over the Tigers.

Foley (0-2) will play in the Cane Classic tournament at Alma Bryant on Friday and Saturday.
