A literary classic filled with imagination and heart will take the stage this April as South Baldwin Community Theatre (SBCT) presents “Anne of Green Gables,” inviting audiences to see a bit of themselves — and perhaps their own “bosom friend” — in the spirited young heroine.
Directed by Paula Dumas, the production runs April 17-26 at the theater’s Gulf Shores venue. The play follows Anne Shirley, an imaginative and outspoken orphan whose journey to find a place to belong ultimately captures the hearts of everyone around her.
With a talented local cast and a strong youth presence, the production brings fresh energy to the enduring story, offering a heartfelt and family-friendly experience for both residents and visitors along the Gulf Coast. Audiences can expect moments of humor, warmth and reflection as Anne’s vivid outlook on life transforms those around her.
Performances are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. SBCT is located at 2022 W. 2nd Street in Gulf Shores.
South Baldwin Community Theatre, known for its commitment to accessible and community-driven productions, continues its season with this adaptation of the classic novel first published in 1908 by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery.
