The South Baldwin and Coastal Alabama Business Chambers, in collaboration with the South Baldwin Literacy Council, recently marked a significant milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the construction and opening of the Literacy Council's new building.
The expansion is specifically dedicated to serving the youth who benefit from the Literacy Council's programs. Aligned with its motto, "Empowering our community through education," the South Baldwin Literacy Council is committed to enriching education in the South Baldwin community. The newly opened facility offers a range of programs tailored to meet the diverse educational needs of the community, including an extensive GED program, ESL classes, tutoring services and both youth and adult educational programs.
These initiatives are designed to address the unique educational requirements of individuals within the community, ensuring accessibility for learners of all educational levels through low-cost or free offerings.
In the United States, more than 43 million adults face challenges related to illiteracy. The South Baldwin Literacy Council is steadfast in its mission to combat adult illiteracy and promote educational equality.
