FOLEY - The South Baldwin Chamber was honored to celebrate the newest addition to downtown Foley, Gypsy Queen Java. Gypsy Queen is a locally owned coffee shop that has been keeping customers awake since Nov. 10 of last year.
Owners Greg and Lindsay Driskell observed the great potential in Foley and fell in love with the charm of historic downtown. They felt that a place where locals could congregate would be a great addition to the allure of downtown. “We wanted to create a space that could become a great go-to spot for locals to relax and catch up with friends,” shared Lindsay. She brings years of experience in hospitality while Greg has a degree in finance and worked in the advertising industry for years. The couples’ experience, talent and creative abilities have been a winning formula; customers are piling in to try tasty creative drinks that will get their engines going and excite their taste buds. The most popular drinks thus far have been the Stairway to Heaven which is Pistachio and mocha latte and the Raspberry Beret that has raspberry and white mocha latte.
Greg and Lindsay continue to find ways to improve their business and better serve the Foley area; they plan to add craft beers and wine, as well as locally sourced flavored teas and other small food items to the menu. You can visit Gypsy Queen Java Monday-Friday 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. You can learn more about Gypsy Queen Java by going to www.gypsyqueenjava.com or following them on Facebook under gypsy queen java.
