BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Members of Honor Flight Five were honored Tuesday by the Baldwin County Commission during a ceremony recognizing the veterans who were flown to Washington, D.C., in May to view monuments built in their honor.

South Alabama Honor Flight V veterans honored by Baldwin County Commission

BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Members of Honor Flight Five were honored Tuesday by the Baldwin County Commission during a ceremony recognizing the veterans who were flown to Washington, D.C., in May to view monuments built in their honor.

South Alabama Honor Flight, a non-profit organization has flown 468 veterans of World War II, Korean and Viet Nam to the site.

Eighty-eight men and one woman were transported in May. The sixth flight is slated Sept. 21, with orientation Sept. 17.
