ORANGE BEACH, AL - A fire in Florida is putting a smoke cloud over the Bear Point area of Orange Beach and blowing smoke onto Ono Island.

Orange Beach Fire and Rescue issued the following statement on its Facebook page about 6 p.m. on Oct. 25 after inquiries from Gulf Coast Media.

"If you are in the Orange Beach area, specifically Ono Island, you will smell smoke for the next several hours due to a brush fire in Florida north of Ono. Escambia County, Fla., has told us the fire is in bog/marsh area that cannot be reached by forestry equipment.

"Those authorities are on top of it, just in case you smell smoke in our area. It's not here."
