FAIRHOPE — More than 500 people attended the 2026 Shuck Cancer South Alabama event at Oak Hollow Farm on April 9. The fundraiser brought in more than $235,000, more than double last year's total, to support cancer patients and families across South Alabama. The sold-out fundraiser featured oysters and coastal dishes from more than 10 restaurants, including Cosmo's Restaurant & Bar, Cobalt the Restaurant, GTs on the Bay and Voyagers at Perdido Beach Resort, along with participation from other local chefs, oyster farmers and beverage makers. Proceeds from the event help provide services such as transportation to treatment and lodging for patients seeking care, organizers said. The annual event brings together the local culinary community and supporters to raise money and awareness for cancer-related needs across the region.
