SUMMERDALE, Ala. — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a meth lab at 13610A County Road 28 in Summerdale. The investigation was begun by the patrol division and being followed up by Baldwin County Drug Task Force.

A deputy with Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop Kevin Curry for traffic violations and reckless endangerment. Curry fled the traffic stop and eluded the deputy. Deputies received information that Curry might possibly be hiding at 13610A County Road 28 in Summerdale.

Upon their arrival, deputies smelled what they believed to be a working meth lab.

A search warrant was done and an active methamphetamine lab was discovered.

Investigators have arrested James Kevin Pucket for manufacturing a controlled substance 1st degree and possession of a controlled substance. A handgun was also located and he is possibly a convicted felon on parole. Pucket is the father of Kevin Curry.

Jennifer L. Bemis was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and an alias warrant. Also at the residence was pregnant Latosha J. Hicks who was not arrested at this time.

This case will be presented to a Baldwin County Grand Jury where additional charges are expected. Hicks could also face charges.

Deputies are continuing to search for Curry.
