STYX RIVER, Alabama — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the drowning death of a child at the Styx River RV resort.
According to a press release issued Sunday by BCSO Chief Investigator Maj. Anthony Lowery, officers responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m. and found a 3-year-old female child was pulled from the resort pool.
CPR was performed on the child until she was taken by Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Witnesses at the scene and the child’s mother were interviewed, Lowery said. A surveillance video of the incident was also collected.
No charges have been filed at this time. The case remains under investigation, Lowery said.
