GULF SHORES, AL - Elvis in the person of Shane Tucker to perform Feb. 4 at Gulf Shores Church Memorable tunes by the ever-popular Elvis will be featured in a live interactive performance on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. in the GSUMC South Campus auditorium, 1720 Gulf Shores Parkway.
Tickets at $10 per person are available in Thee Coffee Shop at South Campus Monday to Friday from 9 a.m.-noon.
Elvis tribute artist Shane Tucker along with the Promised Land Band is fresh from several recent sold-out performances at Island View Casino in Gulfport, Miss. The show, Elvis Remembered, showcasing many of Elvis' early songs as well as hits from his later years, will also feature drummer Rob Hurston from Memphis.
The Promised Land Band will open the show playing hits from the 60's and 70's with lead vocals by Danny D., Kay Sorrels, June Hurston and Carmyn Tucker.
Tucker, known as Elvis at the Gulf, began singing as part of a children's choir in church, eventually becoming a soloist. He became Elvis at a party and from there on has become noted through Elvis competitions, concerts, parties and balls. He is dedicated to keeping the memory and music of Elvis alive for those who remember the artist and to introduce Elvis to younger folks who enjoy his music.
Thee Coffee Shop will be open during intermission at the show. For more information call the GSUMC office at 251-968-2411 or visit the website at www.gulfshoresumc.org.
