SPANISH FORT, Ala.— The sounds of Christmas were alive at Spanish Fort Middle School during the band and chorus’ Christmas concert Dec. 16.
Friends and family of the middle-schoolers packed the cafetorium for a Christmas-themed concert.
Students dressed in crisp black and white for the evening.
The seventh- and eighth-grade band—under the direction of Leslie Owens—performed “The Nutcracker March” by Michael Story; “December Sky” by Erik Morales; “All is Calm” by Robert W. Smith; “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” by Michael Story; and “Angels We Have Heard on High” by Elliot Del Borgo.
The sixth-grade beginner band performed “A Christmas Tale” by Victor Lopez; “Dance of the Reed Flutes” by Michael Story; and Christmas Bits and Pieces” by Mike Story.
The seventh- and eighth-grade choir—under the direction of Jennifer Fyock and Dede Wilson as the accompanist—performed “Deck the Halls” by Edwin Childs; “Who Would Send a Baby?” by Mary Kay Beall; and “Here Comes Santa Claus” by Gene Autry and Oakley Haldeman.
The sixth-grade choir sang “Ding Dong! Merrily On High!” by Ruth Artman; “Christmas Peace Canon” by Jean Anne Shafferman; and “Holiday Rock” by Berta and Sonja Poorman.
