MAGNOLIA SPRINGS — A 63-year-old man has been charged with sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12.

Richard Harry Carver was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center on June 15 on the felony charge.

“He does have a criminal history consistent with this problem,” said Maj. Anthony Lowery of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.

Lowery said the child involved in the alleged sexual abuse was known to Carver, who lives on Baldwin County Road 49.

Carver remained in the Corrections Center as of week’s end on a $125,000 bond.

First-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony punishable by not more than 10 years in prison or less than one year and one day.
